The House
Note // Please scroll to the bottom for updates…
It was not love at first sight. We saw this house almost a year into our house hunt and after 2 heartbreaks. I was exhausted and ready to throw in the towel. The price was too good to be true and when we pulled up, I almost immediately dismissed it. Jared in his infinite wisdom suggested we go ahead and look since we were there. When we went inside I still wasn’t in love, but I saw potential. The more we looked and the more we thought about it, the more this house made sense.
We are starting with a pretty blank canvas. Since it was at one time an office in recent years it has been stripped of much of it’s historic charm. We bought the house bland carpet, one glossy paint color over every surface, sterile lighting and all.
We’re on a budget. But we hope to turn it around and make it our home. We have a long ways to go, but I’ll be chronicling every step here, good and bad.
UPDATE // We’ve done quite a bit in the first year. Here are some progress photos. For more please click over here.

Glad I found your blog! We are in the process of buying a house that is a bit of a fixer-upper too. I look forward to seeing your updates :)
