I’d like to introduce you to my new favorite clutch.  Recently I was contacted by Mezay of Corals + Nuts to check out her new collection of handmade clutches and pouches.  The entire collection is gorgeous but I decided to try out the metallic gold leather foldover clutch.

When it arrived (and it arrived quickly, even though it came all the way from India!) I fell head over heels.  This clutch is gorgeous.  It’s beautifully made and feels like luxury.  The leather is so soft and has the prettiest soft metallic sheen.  It has a small pocket on the inside to keep your phone or lipstick easy to find.  It’s so roomy!  And I love that you can carry it as a full sized pouch, or as a foldover clutch.  It would be great in a travel bag too to hold electronics or a delicate piece of clothing.

This clutch is so versatile!  For day it’s perfect for toting an Ipad to a meeting over coffee.  For night, fold it in half for a roomy clutch that is big enough to hold your phone AND a full sized wallet (no more digging out your ID and cards out to fit them in a teeny handbag).  Metallics are a great way to add some texture to an outfit too.  Since it’s a neutral, you can pair it with just about any color combination.

I know you love free resources (so do I)!  So I’m excited to bring you something new this week!  Occasionally I will be giving you free handwritten fonts, made by me, just for you!

I’m always looking for great fonts for posts, and I find it so hard to find a casual handwritten typeface.  So when I acquired my new technology this week (hello Ipad!), one of the first things I did was start to design my very own handwritten fonts.  Today I have just 2 for you, but more are coming soon!

When I was a kid, my mom showed me how to jazz up my handwriting by adding little dots to the ends of each stroke.  Lulu Belle is inspired by that technique.  It is a fine font (working on a bolder version) and is great for headers.  It looks cute in caps as well!  You can download it for free right here.

Elisabeth is a simple, narrow handwritten font.  I particularly like it with a lot of space between each letter.  It’s great for adding notes to collages and photos.  It’s my new favorite.  And you can make it your new favorite by downloading it for free over here.

It’s a not-so-secret dream of ours to have a little farm where I can grow flowers.  For now I have a tiny flower bed in front of our house.  Last fall and this spring I planted a few new additions. With some big storms rolling in this weekend, I cut some of my favorites to protect them from the wind.

I’m in love with my new pink daffodils (I know I got them from Brecks.  I THINK these are the ones I bought).  They are the perfect shade of pastel peachy pink and are so full and feminine.  My only gripe is that they are so heavy they have a hard time standing up, so I was forced to cut them and bring them inside (not that I really mind that much).

The biggest pop of color in our beds are my new red Icelandic Poppies.  I purchased them when their buds were closed, so I wasn’t entirely sure what color I was buying.  I was pleasantly surprised when they burst open in a vivid neon red.

I added a few sprigs of leaves from my columbine, which have such a distinct leaf pattern.  I’m head over heals for this spring color combination.  I have them sitting in the living room of the piano.  It looks lovely against our soft gray walls.  Someday I’ll have a field full of these beautiful blooms.  But for now, I’ll look forward to one or two beautiful bouquets every spring.

This week Electrolux asked me to talk about my dream kitchen.  No problem!  With the amount of time we spend in the kitchen, it’s a great space to splurge a little on some luxury touches.  Re-doing the kitchen is on our long list of things to do in our 1870′s era home.  Our current kitchen isn’t big enough for my dream kitchen, but hopefully our next house will have the space build in some of these ideas.

• Open Shelving  //  My husband loves this idea!  Since this is the kitchen of my dreams, I would have beautiful cookware and serving pieces to highlight.
• Electrolux Appliances  //  Electrolux makes selecting a consistent set of appliances easy with their Suite Design approach.  Their appliances coordinate beautifully.  With open shelving it’s especially important to start with a clean and professionally matched set of appliances.
• Refrigerator Drawers  //  This something I honestly had never thought of until I saw these in Electrolux’s collection.  Set your drawer to the perfect temperature to keep bottled drinks easy to find and ready to drink.  Or maybe keep eggs, milk and butter close to your mixer so they stay chilled while you are baking.
• A Neutral Palette  //  Since I’ll be going with open shelving, I’d like to keep the rest of the palette neutral.  White walls, stainless Electrolux appliances, marble counter tops and gray painted cabinets.
• Counter Seating  //  I dream of a kitchen that is large enough to include a island with counter seating.  We don’t sit down for a formal dinner every night in our house, but it would be so much nicer to have a spot to sit down rather than standing by the sink.
• Induction Cooktop  //  I’m in love with Electrolux‘s induction cook tops.  I love the temperature control of gas, but love the ease of cleaning a sleek electric cooktop.  Induction combines the benefits of both.  Responsive temperature control, cool to the touch and super easy to wipe down when you’re done.  What more could you want?

1. Electrolux Chimney Wall-Mount Hood  //  This range hood would be the perfect centerpiece in my dream kitchen.  It fits right in with my contemporary/eclectic/industrial palette.  Plus it coordinates with the rest of my Electrolux appliances.
2. Subway Tile  //  I would cover the walls in my dream kitchen with clean white subway tile.  Floor to ceiling behind my counters.
3. Utility Bar Stools  //  I’ve always wanted an eat-in kitchen.  My dream kitchen would have a breakfast nook AND counter seating with these industrial inspired stools.
4. Crate & Barrel Finn Mugs  //  I’m a sucker for mugs and these would be perfect to hang under one of my open shelves.  Just the right size for morning coffee or evening tea.  Plus, they share a name (Finn) with my pup.

7. Carrera Marble  //  I would add some natural texture to the counters with pristine Carrera Marble.
