End of Summer on Lost and Fawned

Summer is nearly officially over and we are in that weird in between time where it looks like fall but the weather feels like summer.  I’ve been busy cooking in bulk and freezing individual portions to get us through dark weeknights when I don’t feel like cooking.

Since I finished up my summer mini-quilt swaps so I took some time to do some selfish-sewing with some of my favorite stash fabrics that I have been hoarding.  I decided to take on bag construction!  I’ve never done it before but there are some amazing classes on Creativebug (both classes by Betz White) that walked me through the steps.  I love how they turned out and I gained a ton of knowledge.  I’m already planning a quilted duffle.

I’ve also been working away on my crochet projects.  I’ve nearly finished my first hat and my afghan is progressing.  With winter months approaching, I should have plenty of time to hook away in the evening with a cup of tea.

It’s been a rough summer emotionally and things aren’t getting easier any time soon.  But I’m ok.  I’ve been very productive and that helps me center myself.  I’ve also been spending time pampering myself with baths and skin treatments at home.  I found a new favorite tea (Bengal Spice by Celestial Seasonings) and Jared continues to be the best.

Any fun plans for the end of summer?  What are you looking forward to most about autumn?
