This week I have been toiling over something. I feel like I have been spread a little thin. Over the last 4 years I have taken on one new thing after another.
It all started with a little blog and a little etsy shop. Since 2009 Etsy has changed so much. Back when I was selling it was a much smaller community of sellers. It was fairly easy to get noticed if your photos were well composed and your product was high quality. Now it’s easy to get lost in the sea of beautiful handmade and vintage items. Of course as a buyer it’s a wonderful thing, but as a seller it can get pretty daunting.
I have revamped my look a number of times, tried different marketing strategies and gone through phases of feast and phases of famine. It’s really been (incoming cliche) a roller coaster.
So I have decided to take a break from selling on etsy for a little while. What is currently in my shop will stay there until it sells or expires. To help move things along, I’m offering 50% of ANYTHING in the shop with the discount code LASTCALL50.
I may come back next year (let’s be honest… I can’t stay away). But I need some time to create with no intention of selling. Hopefully the next time you see my shop pop up I’ll have something brand new to share with you.
But never fear! This means I’ll be able to focus more on the blog! I have lots of fun things coming this winter. And of course I will always be an Etsy shopper.
S P O N S O R
So sad to see your shop closing up for a while but I completely understand. My goodness how times have changed. Etsy is just one enigma to me now whereas, like you said, before it was pretty straightforward in terms of being “seen.” I can’t wait to see the new projects you have in store for us this winter!
