About a month ago, I took a little step and moved Lost & Fawned to a self hosted platform. I now have the freedom to start customizing L&F to include useful features and enhance the reader experience. I’m still working out the kinks and the site will continue to evolve over time. I wanted to take a couple of moments to show you some of the newer additions to the site (especially the ones you may miss if you read from an RSS feed).
Most of these additions are features you will only see on the individual post pages.
First of all, the old wordpress generated ads have been replaced with new, L&F curated banner ads that are inexpensive and geared toward bloggers and artists. These ads are in place to help me pay for hosting, storage space, maintenance and potentially advertising for L&F. These (as well as my sidebar ads) can be purchased on my new and improved advertising page.
At the bottom of each post page, you can now find more pages you might be interested in pulled from the L&F archives. It’s a great way to discover content you might have missed.
Above the comment box, you can now find a variety of ways to share content you love with your friends. Totally functional, not terribly exciting, but I wanted to point it out.
As mentioned, my advertising page is new and improved. I know run my ads through Passionfruit, so you can pay by Paypal or with your credit card. Ads are now almost instant. You select your ad size, upload your ad, tell me a little about yourself and authorize your payment selection, anytime day or night. Then I receive and email. I review the ad from my phone or computer, and once your application has been approved your ad runs immediately. Ads are automatically rotated and shuffled. It’s all very efficient.
Want to give be a part of L&F? Give our ad program a try this weekend for 20% off. Use the discount code below when you purchase your ad now through Monday.
Weekly Pins, Covet and Weekend Links are now a part of the schedule every week. I’m working on bringing you new discount codes and giveaways from some exciting shops this fall.
