Lost & Fawned

Admittedly when we moved in, our bedroom was the room that was neglected.  We never painted, furniture was sparse and it’s pretty much been a bed in a white room since we got the carpet installed.  Well not for much longer…

With the purchase of our new hutch, I found myself inspired to finally get to work on our room.  So, I purchased art and we made a trip through Ikea this weekend.  Next weekend I have paint planned.  I think we’re going to go with the shade we had originally planned for the dining room, a true graphite rather than the dark slate blue we ended up with.  We both sleep well in a dark, cozy room and I think it will really highlight the beautiful curves and slopes of the ceiling.

I installed the curtain rod today and hemmed the curtains.  It’s already making the room look more like a room with intention.  I’m in love with the Kvista velvet lamp shade from Ikea, but need to paint my ceramic lamp base first.  I’m having trough with decorative pillows for the bed.  But it will all come together with time.

Today  Jared turns 27.  It feels strange since when we met he was just 17.  He’s as handsome as ever (actually even more handsome… look at those chiseled features. *swoon*) and is still makes me smile every single day.  OK, I’m done embarrassing you Jared.  I’ll get back to work getting things done around the house we’ve put off (my birthday gift).
