Lost & Fawned

It’s no secret autumn is my favorite time of year.  And in addition to layers, cool weather and changing leaves fall brings some of my favorite flavors and comfort food.  Foods that simmer long and low, apples, spices and of course pumpkin.  But with the great pumpkin shortage of 2011 roaring, I can’t find plain old canned pumpkin anywhere.  So instead, I pour over food blogs.  Here are some recipes I’m dying to try…

  • Roasted Tomato Soup with Homemade Oyster Crackers from Food + Words  (Pictured)
  • Pumpkin Monkey Bread from Sugarcrafter
  • Chicken Spaghetti from The Pioneer Woman Cooks
  • Salted, Spiced Caramel Sauce from Cooking on the Weekends
  • Cheddar Cheese Soup from The Dabble
  • Brie and Pear Tart from A Spicy Perspective
  • Sparkling Apple Cider Cocktail from Big World, Small Kitchen
  • Pumpkin Rotini from Simply Stardust
