Oh Ikea. Jared and I swung through Pittsburgh on way back from Niagara (not really on the way home, but it was only an hour and a half out of the way…) to pick up a few “souvenirs” . We hit the marketplace and picked up extra dish towels, wooden spoons, a new wok, an extra set of silverware, some extra bowls, a few more SIGNE rugs, etc. When we got to the frame area in a moment of weakness I ended up putting 2 huge RIBBA 28 x40″ frames in our cart. I got one in white and one in aluminum.
One is intended to go over the stairs. I’m pretty sure I know what I’m putting in it, and if it doesn’t fit, it’s not difficult to find vertical prints.
The other however, is a little more difficult. I would love to hang it horizontally behind our bed. That space needs SOMETHING and this frame is really a nice proportion for it. I’m just not sure what. The rest of the room really doesn’t have any direction, so this could be a great starting point. The walls are white and there are touches of black throughout the room. Everything is pretty neutral. I would like something in the frame that is also pretty neutral in color and season since it will likely not change for quite awhile. I’m having trouble finding horizontal art. The opening of the inside of the mat is 19.25 x 27.25″. I would love something handprinted or buy direct from the artist. Or a great vintage print or a DIY something would work too.
Any suggestions?
Here are a few artists I’m loving right now!

Love all of these! It’s much harder to find HUGE prints I love though. Need something around 19×27. Doesn’t have to be exactly that size, but at least that big.
