I spent a good chunk of last week making getting our first floor to the point that it doesn’t feel like we just moved in. I unpacked the last of the boxes in the living room, hung some things on the walls and we switched out the lamp in the dining room. It was previously a pendant from Lowes (you can see it in this post). It was nice but didn’t make much of a statement. On our last Ikea trip the OTTAVA caught our eye, and for $29.99 we decided we would find a place for it. To finish the lamp we used a traditional Edison Bulb to stay consistent with the old world, industrial style.
I came home today to find my first peony had opened! We have a nasty storm blowing in, so I clipped it and brought it in to preserve it from the wind. It’s so small and delicate. And it looks so pretty against the dark walls. I think I have figured out why I love the wall color so much. Growing up, I always loved the way the trees looked against a dark stormy sky. Everything just looks more vibrant.
It looks fantastic… I love peonies as well. I’m excited to see how your house gets decorated, I love it all so far!
It has totally all come together. Your home is amazing and I looooooove it to pieces!!!
The light looks really good. Did you add the brass detailing or was it there already?
It was actually included! The only thing we did was add the edison bulb instead of a boring old regular bulb.
So great!
You perfectly explained why that shade of blue-grey is so amazing.
I can’t wait to see where you go from here.
Can’t wait to visit…Jared’s first mother-in-law visit. It looks wonderful!!!!
