With 2 weeks and counting before our deadline we got to work sanding the floors this Valentines weekend. When I say ‘we’ I really mean Jared worked on it for 12 hours on Saturday while I was knocked on my butt in bed with a migraine (throbbing head ache + heavy vibrating machinery is not a great combo). Sunday we put in a long day of work in and had a foundation consult.
We got a lot done, but not nearly as much as we had hoped. If you ever take on a project like this, don’t think you can get a whole house done in a weekend. One room perhaps, but not a whole house. I’m blogging from the house actually, trying to get some work done on my day off.

Where do you draw inspiration for your collection?
i love things that are vintage, victorian, and just a bit off. think donna reed goes punk but in the 1850s instead of 1950.
Classic “getting to know you” question: What is your favorite color and why?
hot pink. its bright and super feminine. nothing says ‘i’m a girl!’ like hot pink.
What’s next for Girlyfied this spring and summer?
spring and summer will have lots of bright colors and more screen prints. like screened vintage neckties…for girls. sexy little girly tanks. and maybe a lil more experimenting with jewelry. i’m wondering how many cameos i can fit on a necklace =). also looking to collabs with other artists like painters and sculpters. i love just being around other creatives and seeing where we can further blur the lines.
