It’s my Logan-Dog’s second birthday! He was born in a barn in Amish country 2 years ago today. He’s the closest thing we have to a kid and we love him to pieces. He makes us laugh every day and has taught us so much about ourselves. He’s so charming and handsome. I love his big, intense yellow eyes, white speckled chest and feet and the way his black fur has a red-ish tone in the sun.
Let’s take a little walk down memory lane with my favorite pup.
Last year for Christmas, I wanted a pair of boots like Jared’s basic, utilitarian winter boots. He managed to track down another unused pair in his parents attic. Since then I have pretty much wonr them everyday there is even a hint of snow or ice. They are no-frills and perfectly practical. Unfortunately, I have almost worn them out. They weren’t wonderfully made and there is no cushion left. I don’t have the heart to give them up until I find a suitable replacement.
In a perfect world, these 10″ sherling-lined boots from L.L. Bean would be that replacement. They are probably what my boots were knocking off in style with the rubber base and leather upper portion. These boots have been tested and evolved over the past 100 years and are the proven leader when it comes to function and durability. Maybe next winter I’ll get a pair of these under the Christmas tree. Until then I will keep rocking my good old boots.
