Leave it to a former interior design student to watch a movie and fixate on the dynamics of the interiors. That’s exactly what happened when I watched (500) Days of Summer a couple of weeks ago.
The movie was great. The acting was perfect, the story was charming and real and the directing was great. But what I really loved was the interiors. The styling and set dressing, especially in the apartments of the two main characters (played by Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt) was so reflective of their characters and so different. Summer’s apartment is eclectic, feminine and colorful. Tom’s is masculine, contemporary and monochromatic. Plus, Tom’s chalkboard headboard wall is beyond amazing. I don’t know how clean your sheets would be, but I love the idea of a headboard you can draw on to suit your mood.
Here are two boards inspired by each apartment. Who’s space do you prefer? Summer’s or Tom’s?
Ah Lagoon. The shade of clear tropical water and mini-golf course ponds. Summery right? Well this morning Pantone’s Fall 2010 color forecast challenged me to put together a Lagoon collection for autumn. Paired with spiced pumpkin and mustard Lagoon becomes the perfect tone to add some coolness to your fall style. I love Lagoon in felt and jersey for autumn.
Here are my Lagoon picks…
Tomorrow a delicious Chocolate Truffle collection.
This afternoon I’m going to list a handful of necklaces from my new fall collection over at the shop. Just 4 or so. The rest of the collection will be available when I relaunch with my new branding early this autumn. You can tell by the photos I have a new look and you can expect to say good-bye to some off favorites. So if you love anything currently in the shop now is the time to get it before they are gone for good to make room for the rest of my new collection.
