I’m sure any dessert you make this weekend will be amazing but if you want to make a chocolate cake or vanilla cupcake more festive try some handmade flags like these ones from Style Me Pretty (pictured) or these ones from Creature Comforts.

Have kids coming over this weekend?  Help them make handmade harmonicas from maya*made.

Rock a bright red heal or patriotic blue tote bag like these from In Honor of Design.

Check out this amazing Ikea-Hack that uses reclaimed timber to make a modern horizontal cabinet into a one of a kind piece.

And be sure to wish Megan V of Running Stitch a happy 2 year blogiversary!

If you are serving a smaller more adventurous party this recipe for Vanilla Riccota Cream with Fruit from Ask Georgie sounds amazing and looks beautiful and festive.  According to the recipe it is made in one simple step and from a short list of ingredients.  Perfect for a last-minute gathering, easy but has a lot of impact.  Did I mention it was low-fat too?

I have decided since I got a beautiful bunt pan and angel food cake pan for my birthday yesterday that I am going to feature some beautiful and amazing desserts perfect to take to your 4th of July picnic.

Ever since our trip to New York where I picked up an amazing Jam that included rhubarb, I have been dying to try more desserts featuring rhubarb.  This strawberry rhubarb pie from Beantown Baker caught my eye this morning.  It looks like a perfect summer pie and would be something a little different on the dessert table at any picnic you are planning to attend this weekend.
