We have an absolutely giant, blank white wall in our kitchen. Since it’s a wall we share with our neighbors it has no windows or doors to break it up. For awhile now I’m been on the hunt for the right piece to help scale down that wall. It needs something large, interesting and cheap (I am a sucker for decor deals).
I would love to find a vintage classroom map or diagram at an estate sale or tag sale for this space. I saw one in a magazine (Domino perhaps? RIP) a while back and ever since I have been on the hunt. Here are some of my favorites I’ve found around the web:
These are pretty out of my price range but if you weren’t up for the hunt, they would be just lovely and worth the price. I think they look charming just hung as they would over a chalkboard.

That vintage school roll down map is soooo cool! I totally remember those as a kid but didn’t give much thought to them again until I saw your blog. Thanks for inspiring and I will keep my eyes open for them. Great Blog!
