I mentioned earlier I felt inspired to sew. I got to work early and found an old feed sack I had purchased ages ago. I cut off one side and used most of it for the front of a large pillow and one of the extra strips as the accent on a smaller pillow. I paired it with natural linen.
Logan seems to like them and they are pretty sturdy so I don’t have to worry about him actually using them as a pillow. I need to make a slightly larger pillow form for the big one so it looks fuller, but generally the look really cute in the living room.
Whipping out the fabulous plaid fabric scissors today and sewing some new pillow shams. Some for us and some to sell I think. I got some amazing 1960′s floral curtains from that amazing estate sale that I want to make something with. Also I haven’t used all the fat quarters Jared got me for Christmas. Time to get cracking.
I love my blazer. I love it to dress up my jeans with a great pair of heals and I love dressing it down with a t-shirt and flats. I think this blazer from Free People in classic navy is so perfect for summer. It’s a knit, so it’s lighter but still has some shape and I love the little touch of summer seersucker in the lining. The cropped sleeves are great for warmer days and can see it easily transitioning into fall. It so cute style with shorts and would be a great cover up with a cute floral sundress and flats. Love it. Love it. Love it.
At Christmas, Jared spoiled me with this knit sleeping bear beanbag. I love it and it sleeps in our living room next to the kitchen. One day Jared got Logan up on top of it and slowly but surely the dog has been spending more and more time on top of it. Today I caught him taking an afternoon nap on top of the sleeping bear! I managed to snap some crappy photos with my webcam. Ignore my general frumpyness. It was too cute not to grab a picture of.
These muffins look so delicious. I love the simple paper lining with the slightly burnt edges. I may have to look into what kind of paper to use for this.

The hot color for fashion week this spring was coral, ranging from bright neon orange coral to soft pale peaches. I personally love a soft warm coral somewhere between pink and orange for this summer. I think it the perfect accent to khaki, gray, denim, etc. JCrew has nailed this color for me and has found shades that flatter about any complexion.

I wish I had a little one for the sole purpose of buying them this knitted hooded cape by Saint Reagan’s Hollow on etsy. This would be so perfect for chilly summer evenings, cold days at the coast and the beginning of autumn. I think it’s so chic and looks so cozy. Read about the story of its concept and design here.
I’ve you’re an amazing knitter you can also pick up the pattern from her shop and make it yourself.
Having a super busy day today. Lots going on. I promise things will be back on track tomorrow.
In the mean time, I adore this table and chairs. I love everything about this photo. Just gorgeous. I want to make a giant flatbread pizza and throw a party around it. Yum.

So here it is… The last batch of 10 things.
So that’s it. Jared has 9 things ready to go. He just needs to pick out one more thing and I’ll post his 10. He’s done a pretty good job despite his “I don’t have anything I don’t need” claim (somewhere Jared is reading this rolling his eyes, I’m sure).
This felt good and I have a nice sizable pile of things to go to good will sitting in the corner of the dining room. We’ll drop that off later this week. I’m going to research a consignment store for some of these things. Once it is all out of the house I think it will really set in.
Thanks to the wonderful Deidra of Hinterland Vintage I discovered my little vintage white acrylic tassel necklace is in the etsy finds today! Love the soft all white collection of summery fashion, housewares and accessories. And maybe my necklace will find a home at last! Cool thing about this necklace is the design allows for the tassel to be removed and replaced with whatever you want, whenever you want! Check out all the gorgeous whites in White Light, White Heat.
Thanks for letting me know Deidra! You’re the best!
